New prime minister in Haiti; the 7th in Moise government

The government of President Jovenel Moise has named Ariel Henry to the post of Prime Minister. Henry was minister of interior and territorial communities in 2015 under President Michel Martelly.

Ariel is the 7th prime minister appointed by President Moise.

Haiti Libre reports that a decree with the information was published in the official newspaper Le Moniteur special issue 36-B dated Monday, 5 July 2021. Henry replaces Claude Joseph.

Moise said he appointed Henry to create an inclusive government, to resolve the insecurity problems and support organizing the elections and referendum set for 26 September 2021.
