The government bus agency, OMSA began operating route 27B that goes from Km 13 of Duarte Highway to a final stop at the Huacalito government building on Duarte Avenue. The fare on these buses is a low RD$15. The bus route is covering Corredor 27 de Febrero that connects to the V Centenario Race Track on Las Americas Expressway.
In a press release, the director of the transportation entity, Radhames Gonzalez, explains that the new route doubles the transportation service OMSA already offers from Prolongación 27 de Febrero in western Santo Domingo to Duarte Avenue in the city center, near the Colonial City.
González says that the bus route with the greatest flow of passengers is Avenida 27 de Febrero, but most of the users commute from Km 13 of the Duarte Highway to Avenida Duarte. This is why the route was extended.
OMSA offers low-cost bus service in Greater Santo Domingo, Santiago and Barahona cities.
