VP at Central Romana passes away

Eduardo Martinez Lima, executive vice-president of Central Romana, died early on Tuesday morning, 13 July 2021 of a heart attack. He was 80 years old.

Martinez Lima was born in the province of Matanzas, Cuba, yet he lived in La Romana most of his life and took on the Dominican citizenship. He took a job in Central Romana after graduating in chemical engineering and carrying out graduate studies in economics and finance at Louisiana State University in the United States.

He began working in Central Romana as a production superintendent, moving up in the ranks to be promoted to vice president of production and planning.

He held the position of president of Costasur Dominicana, Operadora Zona Franca Romana SRL, Administradora Fondo de Pensiones Romana and Airport Management Services that operates the La Romana International Airport.

He had been with the company for 55 years. He is survived by his wife Jeannette, his children Johanna, Eduardo, Alejandro, and his granddaughters and grandson.
