Curfew lifted in capital city and Punta Cana

The Presidency announced the lifting of the curfew in the National District and La Altagracia province as of 5am of Monday, 9 August 2021. The epidemiological data shows that 77% of the capital city population and 81% of the population of La Altagracia province is fully vaccinated.

Decree 477-21 that lifts the curfew keeps some restrictions. The mandatory use of masks in public places and private places of public use is confirmed. The sale and consumption of alcoholic beverages is prohibited in public places and private places of public use every day from 12 midnight to 5am.

Special Ministry of Public Health permits are required for the celebration of activities where people may agglomerate.

This decree explains that public and private establishments for public use, regardless of the type of activity they sponsor, may receive people only up to 75% of the total capacity of their facilities, always in compliance with the sanitary protocols in force.

It also indicates that open spaces in the open air, such as parks and boardwalks, may be used by people in compliance with the sanitary protocols in force.

It is also established that, in the rest of the country, including the province of Santo Domingo, the curfew and the other measures set forth in Decrees 419-21 and 432-21 are confirmed. In the province of Santo Domingo only 45% of the population is fully vaccinated.
