The Dominican Republic lost to the United States in the repechage to determine who would get to play in the semifinals in the Tokyo Olympics. The DR had defeated Israel and Mexico, but had lost to Japan and South Korea. With the defeat on 3 August 2021 to the USA, the DR still has a chance at winning a bronze medal. The DR will match the winner of the game between Japan and South Korea. That game is scheduled for 7 August 2021.
