President Luis Abinader reprogrammed the annual presidential rendition of accounts for this Wednesday, 18 August 2021 at 9pm. This time around, the speech will be aired from the Presidential Palace. A large stage has been set up for the presentation. Several TV stations have put together news teams to comment on the speech.
The rendition of accounts has traditionally taken place from the National Assembly with only the participation of legislators, the family of the President, a selection of government ministers and heads of diplomatic missions. With the staging of the event at the Presidential Palace, hundreds of government officers, business people, civil society leaders, religious leaders, and others are invited to the mega public event.
