
Diario Libre reports Sports Minister Francisco Camacho removed 626 persons from the payroll of the Ministry of Sports after the change of administration. The payroll of the Ministry in August 2020, the first month of the Abinader administration, was RD$57,787,795 and had dropped to RD$43,381,044 a month for payroll. But now new staff has been added and wages increased. The Ministry has 2,882 employees, of which 2,392 are fixed and 490 have special contracts. Last August, the Ministry had 3,110 employees, of which 3,018 were fixed and 92 had the special contracts.
Diario Libre analysis explains that even when the Ministry of Sports now has 228 fewer employees, the payroll is around RD$1.3 million more.
