
The Contemporary Dance Foundation announces the 16th edition of the International Contemporary Dance Festival (Edanco 2021) will take place 26 September to 10 October 2021 in different venues in the capital city under Covid-19 protocols. The annual event had been suspended for the Covid-19. In Santo Domingo, 70%+ of the population is vaccinated.
The program will be held at the Manuel Rueda Hall of the National Arts School (Av. Cesar Nicolas Penson), Casa de Teatro (Arzobispo Meriño 110, Colonial City), the Museo Arte Moderno (Plaza de la Cultura), La Teatrera (Padre Billini 356, Colonial City) and Domínico Americano auditorium (Av. Abraham Lincoln), El Portal Cultural (Sanchez 255, Colonial City).
“We return with great enthusiasm because we know that the Dominican people need to have spaces for art and recreation,” say the organizers in making the announcement.
The Nejla Yatkin company from the United States is coming. Dancers Jafet Reynoso, Summer Redwing and Milla Natallana, will represent the Dominican diaspora living in the United States.

Tamara Otarola Castillo and Lucía González Paniagua, from Ballet Capital Oeste and Coda-21 (Puerto Rico)
Compañía Médula (Cuba)
Venezuelan resident dancers
Dancers from the National Contemporary Dance Company and the National Dance School represent the Dominican Republic.
The alternative dance shows “A la inversa” and “La casa danza breve” will be presented.
