The National Statistics Office (ONE) will carry out the 10th National Population and Housing Census of the Dominican Republic in October 2022, at a programmed cost of RD$2.9 billion, announced Miosotis Rivas Peña, ONE director. The census would have been carried out in 2020 but was postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Rivas said that for the 2022 census, poll takers will use electronic tablets to enter the information and thus the statistical compilations will be faster. She explained this will avoid the delay that affected the 2010 survey when it took two years to release the data.
