Through the Banco de Reservas, the Dominican government is picking up the tab for the hosting of the 2022 Caribbean Baseball Series in Santo Domingo. The classic will be played at the Estadio Quisqueya Juan Marichal in Santo Domingo. The Aguilas Cibaeñas is the defending team after winning the pennant in Mexico in February 2021.
The 64th edition of the Caribbean Series will take place 28 January to 3 February 2022. Caribbean Baseball commissioner, Dominican Juan Puello Herrera expects the early date to motivate Major League players to join their country teams. The participating teams are Colombia, Venezuela, Panama, Puerto Rico, Mexico and the Dominican Republic.
