The National Association of Hotels & Tourism (Asonahores) and the Ministry of Public Health are working together to ensure hotel and resort workers get the Pfizer booster shot. This is a third vaccine for workers that are already fully vaccinated. In the Dominican Republic upwards of 72% of people have received first two doses of Sinovac/Coronavac Covid-19 vaccine. The vaccination program has been a success and the number of hospitalizations and deaths for Covid-19 has dropped to regional lows.
The hotel industry has been one of the most active in getting its staff to be vaccinated. La Altagracia province and the National District (Santo Domingo) were the first in the country to remove curfew after more than 70% of the population was fully vaccinated.
