The National Drug Control Agency (DNCD) confirms the arrest of Juan Carlos Mosquea Eduardo, brother of Erick Randhiel Mosquea Polanco, head of a major cocaine trafficking and money laundering network that operated in Santiago and eastern provinces and who is a fugitive in the Operation Falcon case. Juan Carlos Mosquea is described as the operations director of the network. He was arrested in Puerto Plata on 16 September 2021.
The arraignment request establishes that Juan Carlos Mosquea was a frontman for his brother and the manager of his brother’s enterprises, as reported in Listin Diario.
Diario Libre reports that in the raids held Thursday evening, 16 September 2021, in Puerto Plata city, Waldo Musa, nephew of a several terms former mayor of Puerto Plata, Walter Musa, was also arrested.
The arrest takes place after a photo had circulated with a photo of a relative of Erick Mosquea, former prosecutor Jean Alain Rodriguez and Collado Marte. Rodriguez and Collado are under arrest. The defense of Rodriguez had said the photo corresponded to a community meeting at the Musa home.
