The Santiago Chamber of Commerce & Production-organized Expo Cibao opens on 29 September 2021 in the city of Santiago. It is the most important business and marketing event held in the country’s second largest city. The event is taking place in the Central Park of Santiago and virtually through the Cibao Trade Center platform that was used when the event was held only online in 2020.
President Luis Abinader will be attending. The event seeks to contribute to the recovery of productive sectors affected by the pandemic.
Carlos Iglesias Rodríguez, president of the Santiago Chamber of Commerce and Production’s board of directors, said the event also seeks to raise awareness on the use and implementation of preventive health measures that will have to be taken for a long time. “This edition is carried out under the slogan ‘New challenges, new goals,’ to reinforce the idea of how to act differently, to review processes, to assume the digital transformation, to discover new ways of working and business that have been implemented after the pandemic,” he said.
Iglesias expressed that they firmly believe in the strength of Cibao productive sectors, the resilience capacity to reactivate the economy, and their ability to undertake new projects and launch timely initiatives according to the current health concerns.
Due to health restrictions, this 2021, the number of stands and participating companies is about half of those in 2019.
