The Permanent Representative of the Dominican Republic to the Organization of American States (OAS), Josue Fiallo, assumes on 1 October 2021 the Chair of the Permanent Council of the hemispheric institution for the last quarter of 2021. The last time the DR held the position was in 2014. Fiallo will preside the committee that is preparing the 51st General Assembly of the OAS that will take place in Guatemala 10-12 November 2021, and the 9th Summit of the Americas to be held in the United States during the first quarter of 2022.
