The Dominican Winter Baseball Professional Championship starts at 7pm on Wednesday, 27 October 2021 with games in three ball parks. Tigres del Licey will play the Leones del Escogido in Santo Domingo (Quisqueya-Juan Marichal). Aguilas Cibaeñas will match the Gigantes del Cibao in Santiago (Cibao). The Toros del Este will play the Estrellas Orientales in La Romana (Francisco Micheli).
The good news is that fans are now allowed to be present at the stadiums. Masks are required but attendance of 90% is authorized.
The government commercial bank, Banreservas is the lead sponsor of the tournament. The bank is raffling game tickets to its customers.
The scheduled 40 games of the regular series of the 2021-2022 winter baseball tournament end on 17 December. The four-team round robin is set to start 19 December, followed by and playoffs in January 2022.
The Dominican Republic will host the Caribbean Series this year from 28 January to 3 February 2-22 with the participation of champion teams from the leagues of Mexico, Venezuela, Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic.
