El Caribe publishes today an extensive report looking into the many laws that authorize tax exemptions to individuals and companies. Local tax exemptions are in the limelight as the pressure is on Congress to reduce its generous perks that includes two unlimited vehicle tax exonerations per four-year term per legislator.
A Fiscal Pact ordered by National Development Strategy Law since 2012 is pending and calls for a comprehensive review of taxation in the country.
