The Dominican Republic was removed from the United Kingdom travel red list. This means travelers entering UK from Dominican airports no longer have to keep quarantine.
The countries taken off the list are Colombia, Ecuador, Haiti, Panama, Peru, Venezuela, and the Dominican Republic. With these countries, the UK no longer has countries on the red list, that is the UK government’s highest category of Covid travel restrictions.
The red list is reviewed every three weeks.
The removal of the DR from the list coincides with a mild spike in cases of Covid-19 now that there are almost no restrictions. Mask-wearing in public places and presentation of vaccine cards to enter public places are still effective.
In the Dominican Republic, upwards of 61% of the population has the two vaccines, and around 74% have at least one shot. The Ministry of Public Health has sufficient vaccine stocks for 100%+ of the population and is actively seeking to get more people to be vaccinated.
