Nuria Piera report ties Yoly Tours hostel in to Haitian consul in Santiago

An alleged racket involving Dominican and Haitian consuls appears to be exploiting the misery of the Haitian people.

Investigative journalist Nuria Piera dedicated her Saturday, 30 October 2021 investigative report to present evidence of what she describes as a travel business where many Haitians are scammed.

The report suggests close ties between the owner of the Santiago travel agency with the Dominican consul in Haiti. The TV show concluded with the revelation that the house (Asilo Emaus) where Haitians awaiting travel papers are kept in Santiago is owned by the Haitian consul based in that city. After the airing of the show, Dominican authorities shut down the house.
