National Health Service establishes new measures to speed up check payments

The National Health Service (SNS) reported that, together with the Office of the Comptroller General of the Republic (CGR), it has established a new method to speed up and make more efficient the payment process with October pay checks to public hospital health care workers.

The employeesnow must go to their Regional Health Service, on the corresponding date, to receive their check for October.

The payment method is in place from Friday, 29 October to Monday, 8 November 2021, including Saturdays, from eight in the morning to five in the afternoon. The pay in-person method is being used to weed out persons that are not actually working and are on the government payroll. The same systems have been used for other government departments. Previously, employees received bank transfers.

The SNS explained that the CGR arranged for the presence of more auditors to expedite the delivery of the checks and, likewise, security measures were strengthened to guarantee adequate logistics at the payment sites.

The institution informed that the October payment would be made by check, specifying the dates and places of delivery to avoid crowds and disruption of order.

On this occasion, more than 21 thousand SNS collaborators receive their salaries by check, these are those who work in the National Health Service (SNS), Regional Health Services (SRS), First Level of Attention Centers and Diagnostic Centers.

The National Health Service regretted the inconveniences caused by the measure, which it explained was arranged to continue contributing to the process of strengthening institutional transparency. The SNS appeals to the understanding of all collaborators.
