The White House and Centers for Disease Control of the US government announce that foreign national air travelers to the United States are required to be fully vaccinated and to provide proof of vaccination status before boarding an airplane to the United States.
The United States’ new international air travel policy is effective 8 November 2021 and it replaces the existing country-by-country restrictions, putting in place a consistent approach worldwide.
Beginning 8 November 2021, US citizens and vaccinated legal permanent residents returning to the United States need to present proof of vaccination and a negative test performed within three days of departure. Unvaccinated citizens and permanent residents need a negative test carried out one day before their departure.
Also beginning 8 November, vaccinated Haitians will be able to travel to the United States by presenting proof of vaccination, a Covid-19 test performed within three days of departure and a valid nonimmigrant visa.
Those who are not a US resident or citizen need to present the following at the airline counter:
• Covid vaccination card issued at least 14 days after the 2nd dose (required for those over 18 years of age).
• Negative Covid test less than 72 hours old (required for all travelers over 2 years of age).
• Complete and sign an online form stating that the information submitted is correct, which you can submit on paper or on your mobile device.
If you are a US resident or citizen you must have:
• A negative COVID test less than 72 hours old for all travelers over 2 years old.
• Complete and sign the online form stating that the information submitted is correct.
US migration is accepting any WHO approved vaccine as valid. Those vaccinated with Sinovac meet the vaccine requirement for traveling to the United States. Chinese vaccines Sinovac and Sinopharm have WHO approval.
Travelers also need to fill out online the Dominican E-ticket, both for departure and entry to the DR. The form gathers the customs, immigration and health declaration in one place. The filing of the form online is free.
