
Alexis Victoria Yep assured that his companies had not benefited from government contracting after his swearing in to represent the province of Maria Trinidad Sánchez for the ruling Modern Revolutionary Party (PRM) in the Senate. Yet, the Procurement Agency (DGCP) probe found out this is not true.
The DGCP director, Carlos Pimentel remarked on Thursday, 11 November 2021 that he expects the Senate of the Republic to take “appropriate measures” regarding senator Alexis Victoria Yeb ties to companies that are government contractors.
Victoria Yeb had requested that the Procurement Agency answer to whether he was listed as a contractor. The response was a “yes”. The Procurement Agency revealed that senator Victoria Yeb used an offshore company in the Virgin Islands to own Dronena, S.A., a government supplier.
