Sargent & Lundy audits Punta Catalina power plant

Sargent & Lundy began on Monday, 8 November 2021 the technical-forensic audit of the construction and operation of the coal-fired Punta Catalina Thermoelectric Power Plant (CTPC), the Ministry of Energy & Mines revealed in a press release. The power plant was the costliest infrastructure work built by the Medina administration from 2016 to 2020.

David Cohn, vice-president and project director of Sargent & Lund’s Energy and Business Consulting Division, heads the firm’s delegation to inspect the thermoelectric plant to determine whether the design and construction of the work comply with international quality and safety standards for electrical plants.

Energy Minister Antonio Almonte offered the full cooperation of the Ministry of Energy and the technical and administrative personnel of the Punta Catalina plant to the auditors.
