The Civil Aviation Board (JAC) approved new scheduled air transport services for passengers, cargo and mail on points from Russia to the Dominican Republic. The routes Rostov-on-Don/La Romana/Rostov-on-Don, Novosibirsk/La Romana/Novosibirsk and Ufa/La Romana/Ufa were approved.
Azur Air uses a Boeing 777-300ER aircraft with 531 seats, and will fly twice a week. Azur Air is making available 331,089 seats for its first year of operation, bringing Russian beach-seeking tourists primarily.
Marte Piantini, president of JAC, says the flights are a great incentive to air connectivity and tourism promotion.
Azur Air mobilized 322,718 passengers in 779 inbound and outbound operations from January 2019 to September 2021.
