Simu Liu, who recently won the 2021 People’s Choice Award for The Best Action Film (Shang-Chi), went viral with posts telling of his new darling, a Dominican homeless female dog. When in the Dominican Republic, Liu adopted the homeless dog and then took her back to California. He now is promoting that people visit a shelter and adopt when possible. On 4 December 2021, he told the story of “Chopa” in his Instagram thread.
Simu Liu from Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings fame has been all over the entertainment world telling about his stray dog Chopa, his princess.
“Chopa has really settled into her role as the princess of the household. She loves cuddles even more than she did when I first met her in the Dominican Republic, and will not hesitate to bound onto the bed/chair/couch on a moments’ notice so that she can plop down right next to you. She’s endlessly sweet and ever watchful, picking up on my most subtle cues. All in all, one of the best decisions I have ever made,” he wrote on his social media account.
