
Claro telecommunication company in the Dominican Republic is inviting to the Half Marathon Santo Domingo, a race they had held for 25 consecutive years and then was suspended in 2011. The race in the distances of 21K, 10K and 5K is announced for Sunday, 16 January 2022 starting at 6am from the Puerta de las Atarazanas in the Colonial City with the path being all along the Santo Domingo Malecon that borders the Caribbean Sea.
The company encourages people to download the App Medio Maratón Claro to learn about the routes, tips for training for the race, and other important matters related to race.
Registration is online. There is the 21K with a registration fee of RD$2,000; the 10K with a registration fee of RD$1,000, and the 5K with a registration fee of RD$600. Claro customers get 20% off these prices.
The categories are broken down by ages – 18-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69 and more than 70.
