Ricardo Ripoll and Eduardo Sánchez Tolentino (El Piro) of Somos Pueblo aired the situation of persons now investigated in the Anti-Pulpo corruption case getting payments from the new government despite serious irregularities.
In a YouTube video uploaded on 21 December 2021, Ripoll and El Piro question new payments made by the Abinader administration through the government-owned Dominican Petroleum Refinery for purchases of asphalt that are in violation of government norms and controls.
Somos Pueblo presents evidence of a questionable government purchase for AC30 asphalt that was paid for to a company represented by an active army lieutenant and retired military but not delivered as ordered. The Somos Pueblo muckracking journalists present evidence that the payments were cashed into US dollars through the government Banco de Reservas and transferred to a United States bank.
