A Russian national died in an accident on the hiking trail leading to the top of the Isabel de Torres mountain. The trail leads to the botanical gardens at the top of the mountain.
Another foreigner accompanying the Russian, whose nationality has not been reported, was seriously injured. The foreigners were driving on a small motorbike (pasola), and the driver lost control when descending the hill. The incident occurred at approximately 3:30pm on the San Marco-El Cupey section.
The botanical gardens can be reached by the skylift ride or by hike on foot on a marked trail.
