
Presidential Minister Jose Ignacio Paliza delivered a deposit for RD$6.8 million of RD$30.8 million for the start of two major projects in the Santiago city park.
RD$12.5 million are allocated for the children’s area at the 65-hectare Santiago park, the main retreat from the hustle and bustle of the city. The botanical park is located in San Francisco de Jacagua, on the northwest edge of the city, near the Santiago Beltway.
The government is also allocating RD$17.8 million for the start of the multi-use event and meetings facility.
Eduardo Estrella, the senator for the province, says the Banco de Reservas has committed to donating an electric train to replace the current diesel-powered unit, and so, keep improving the park and the environment.
