
A man driving on a motorcycle died when crashing into a horse on the Samaná tolls road, Autovía del Nordeste (Juan Pablo II Highway). He died at the Ney Arias Lora Trauma Hospital where he was taken after colliding on his motorcycle with the horse wandering along the Santo Domingo-Samana road on Friday, 28 January 2022 in the morning.
The man, identified as Juan Pablo Capellan Perez, 40 years old, died from head concussion. He was on his way to Santo Domingo. He lived in La China de Majagual de Sabana Grande de Boya.
The tragic accident is a reminder for drivers to be alert at all times and keep within the 80 km and 50 km speed limits to avert unexpected road obstacles. The road passes through several rural areas.
