
President Luis Abinader attended the 26th presentation of the National Youth Awards (PNJ-2022), dedicated on this occasion to the entrepreneurship and innovation of young people throughout the Dominican Republic.
Youth Minister Rafael J. Feliz García handed out the winners in the 14 categories. These were Selin Benjamín Bocio Richardson, in Voluntary Social Services in favor of the Community; Zacarias Bonnat Michel in International Sports; Alexy Miguel de la Cruz Báez, in National Sports; Esmirna Beltré Geraldo in Contributions to Human Rights (Children, Adolescents and Youth); Héctor Luis Farías Bautista, in Cultural Development; Carlos Edmundo Barriola Rodríguez, in Preservation and Promotion of Natural Resources; and Melvin Vásquez Valerio in Contributions to the Rural Community.
Also recognized were Candie Maite Rosario Guerrero, in Political Leadership; Melvin Ulises Vargas Sánchez in Religious Leadership; Rosa Iris Mercado Ventura, in Business Development and Entrepreneurship; Eduardo Sebastián de la Cruz González in Pre-University Student Merit; Misaela Reyes de Jesús, in University Student Merit; Niwrka Miguelina Tejeda Féliz, in Professional Improvement and Niuvery Rojas Fernández in Personal Improvement and Achievement.
During the event, special recognition was given to the young Dominican, Scarlin Hernández, who is currently working as an engineer at the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).
