The Caimanes of Colombia defeated the Gigantes del Cibao of the Dominican Republic (2-1) in the Caribbean Baseball Series game on 31 January 2022 taking place at the Quisqueya-Juan Marichal Stadium in Santo Domingo. This has resulted in a triple tie between the Dominican Republic, Venezuela and Colombia for the first place in the Caribbean Baseball Series.
The teams for the playoff will be decided on 1 February. Colombia will play Puerto Rico 10:30am (Final), Panamá vs. México (3pm) and Venezuela will play the host Dominican Republic (8pm).
