
Not known for its baseball playing, Colombia now will be playing in the finals against the Dominican Republic. In the first round of the Caribbean Baseball Series, the Dominican Republic lost its only game to Colombia.
The Gigantes del Cibao of the Dominican Republic defeated the Charros de Jalisco team 2-1 on Wednesday, 2 February to pass to the finals. The Caimanes de Barranquilla of Colombia defeated the Navegantes de Magallanes of Venezuela (8-1) to make the playoffs.
The playoffs will be at 7pm from the Quisqueya-Juan Marichal ballpark in Santo Domingo.
The Confederation of Professional Baseball of the Caribbean voted on the “All Stars” of the Caribbean Series Santo Domingo 2022. Of the 12 players chosen, six are on the Dominican team.

Center fielder: José Sirí, Dominican Republic.
Right fielder: Danry Vásquez, Venezuela.
Designated hitter: Juan Francisco, Dominican Republic.
Starting pitcher: Tyler Alexander, Dominican Republic.
Relief pitcher: Luis Felipe Castillo Dominican Republic.
Manager: José Armando Mosquer, Colombia.
