The Ministry of Public Health will be using its stocks of Chinese-manufacturer Sinovac’s Coronavac vaccine for the next phase of vaccinations now opened for children 5 to 11 years old as of Monday, 14 February 2022.
Resolution 0006-2022, issued on 4 February 2022 establishes the children will receive the two doses of Sinovac vaccines separated by an interval of 28 days. The vaccines will be applied at public schools nationwide and are subject to parental authorization.
In the resolution, Public Health recalls that the vaccination of children was approved by the Dominican Medical Association and the Specialized Medical Societies at a meeting with the Health Cabinet on 8 November 2021.
