A San Pedro de Macorís judge issued a warrant for the arrest of Hector Geovanny Morla, who was in the passenger seat when Andres Julio Cespedes reportedly ran over three small children that were making their way home after baseball practice. After the accident, a video showed how Morla took the driver’s seat when the SUV sped off, leaving the children abandoned on the road.
The hearing of the accused in the case of the three children run over in the Santa Fe sector of San Pedro de Macoris, where two of the children died, was rescheduled for Wednesday, 23 February 2022. After weeks on the run, Cespedes turned himself in to the authorities. The arraignment was postponed after the Cespedes defense laws asked for more time to study the case.
