Vanderbilt University in the United States has released the Pulse of Democracy and Americas Barometer survey. The findings for the Dominican Republic reveal a marked machismo attitude, distrust in the local police, and local impact of crime.
The report reveals that too many Dominicans understand domestic violence is a domestic issue, women spouses need their partner permission to go out, trust in the Police continues to decline and one-fifth of every Dominican has been personally affected by crime.
The Americas Barometer data for the survey is compiled through national samples of respondents drawn from each country.
