Famous premium cigar producer Carlos Phillip Fuente is now a Dominican citizen. Fuente is now a dual citizen – United States and the Dominican Republic. President Luis Abinader bestowed him with the Dominican nationality in December 2022 through Decree 845-21.
Fuente was born in Florida, son of Carlos Fuente Sr., the founder of the family tobacco business. He has been key in promoting the Dominican Republic as a world destination for tobacco cultivation and premium cigars. He created the “Fuente Opus X.” He is also known for his charitable efforts through the Fuente Foundation.
