One of the novel ideas has been to provide specific bus stops along the avenue. The bus stops replace the oh-so-typical custom of just sticking a hand out and waving at the pavement as a signal that the person wants to get on the approaching vehicle, be it bus or public car. Intrant agents are doing time studies on the arrivals and departures of the buses and warning drivers of the importance of respecting the solid yellow lines indicating the different bus stops.
The bus route starts in northern Santo Domingo and reaches into the capital city, via Jacobo Majluta Avenue, down to Colombia Avenue, down to John f. Kennedy and Winston Churchill avenues.
