The Minister of Tourism and Development of Saudi Arabia, Al-Khateeb met with President Luis Abinader at the Presidential Palace last week. The Presidency reports that future investments were discussed. Foreign Relations Minister Roberto Alvarez said that Al-Khateeb presented Saudi Arabia’s development fund, which has investments in approximately 100 countries and more than 700 companies worldwide. The Dominican Republic is looking for investors for its new Pedernales destination in the southwest of the country.
The Presidency reports that Saudi Arabia seeks the Dominican vote for the selection of Riyadh to host the World Expo 2030. Italy (Rome) and Russia (Moscow) also seek to host the event.
Also present for the meeting were Vice President Raquel Peña, Hacienda Minister Jochi Vicente and the director of Pro Dominicana, Biviana Riveiro.
