AeroRepública and Fast Colombia cleared for new flights from Colombia

AeroRepública is approved to fly the Medellín/Santo Domingo/Medellín route, announced Jose Marte Piantini, president of the Civil Aviation Board (JAC). The Colombian airline is authorized through 9 May 2024 to transport passengers, cargo and mail between Colombia and the Dominican Republic. The flight would be biweekly, yet the company has not announced the start date. A B737-800NG with capacity for 186 passengers is to be used.

The JAC also approved Fast Colombia’s request to fly Medellin/Punta Cana/Medellin. Fast Colombia (formerly Viva Air) is a Colombian low-cost airline in operation since 2009. It will be using A320-NEO (capacity 188 seats) and A320-CEO aircraft (capacity for 180 seats). The airline will operate 4 flights per week (Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday) on the approved frequency.

The two airlines expand air service between the Dominican Republic and Colombia, offering travelers and exporters and importers more options.
