
Farm experts from the Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation (Embrapa) are in the Dominican Republic carrying out a six-day diagnosis of the Dominican farm sector. The information gathered would be used to modernize farming here. The Brazilian state company is proposing future exchange programs to share innovations in farming and new technologies to enhance exports.
The mission came through efforts of Dominican Ambassador in Brazil, Patricia Villegas. She explained President Luis Abinader had visited one of the 47 Embrapa experimental stations and was impressed.
Embrapa is a Brazilian state-owned research corporation affiliated with the Brazilian Ministry of Agriculture. Embrapa defines its mission as one to carry out research to develop innovative solutions for the sustainability of agriculture for the benefit of Brazilian society. It concentrates on developing technologies, knowledge and technical-scientific information aimed at Brazilian agriculture, including livestock.
The 47 research centers are distributed throughout the country in nearly all Brazilian states.
