Over the weekend, the media focused on the flooding in Puerto Plata on the north coast. A weather phenomenon flooded barrios in several municipalities. The Weather Office (Onamet) says that the trough that brought the heavy rains on Saturday, 5 March 2022 has already left the national territory.
The Center for Emergency Operations ordered weather alerts for Puerto Plata, La Vega, María Trinidad Sánchez, Santiago, Sánchez Ramírez, La Vega, Espaillat, Samaná, Santo Domingo, Monseñor Nouel, San Cristóbal, Hermanas Mirabal and Duarte.
