Thousands braved the rain on Saturday and stayed put for the Carnival parade on the sea-fronting Malecon in Santo Domingo. Carnival this year was affected by preventive measures for Covid-19, with most carnival parades suspended. Still, by the end, with Omicron waning, symbolic carnival parades have been held nationwide, including the Santo Domingo Carnival on Sunday, 6 March 2022.
