The good news is that Italy has cleared the Dominican Republic for visitations.
The Italian Ministry of Foreign Relations “Viaggiare Sicuri” notifies that the Italian government has issued an ordinance on 22 February 2022 whereby entry and exit are no longer subject to Covid-19 travel limitations.
The travel notice reads:
Dominican Republic: Covid-19. Update
All travelers from abroad are allowed to enter the country without any restriction as long as they hold a valid passport for the duration of their stay.
All travelers entering and leaving the country must, before their trip, complete and submit an online form available here on the viaggiaresicuri.it website.
For incoming passengers. To speed up the entry procedures in the Dominican Republic, it is recommended, 72 hours before the trip, to fill out the form, print it or take a screenshot of the QR code and keep it handy to show it to the customs authorities upon arrival.
For flights from all other countries, including Italy, entry into the country is free and therefore, no vaccination card or vaccination certificate is required at entry.
At all airports, passengers will have their temperature checked. In addition, randomly selected passengers (between 3% and 15%) will be given a rapid non-invasive Covid test (by blowing into a machine). Passengers with symptoms attributable to the virus or who test positive for the rapid test will be isolated in places authorized by the Ministry of Health.
For departing passengers. Prior to departure from the Dominican Republic, completing an online form is mandatory. For further information please refer to https://viajerodigital.mitur.gob.do/ and https://eticket.migracion.gob.do/.
