The Major League Baseball Players Association and the baseball team owners have reached an agreement to begin the MLB 2022 baseball season on 14 April 2022. The season would have started at the end of March. Doubleheaders will make up for the lost play days. Baseball fans will now enjoy a 162-game season.
On opening day, there will be between 75 and 100 Dominican ballplayers wearing the uniforms of Major League teams. The MLB has agreed to increase the minimum wage for players, to a larger fund for bonuses before reaching arbitration for the best young players, and to implement the designated hitter for both leagues, American and National, among other measures.
