The media is urging transit authorities to act to put a stop to a dangerous practice by motorcyclists in the cities. Several accidents have already happened when motorcycle drivers have climbed on sidewalks to evade bottlenecks and get where they are going faster. Diario Libre has been covering the story.
The president of the National Federation of Motoconchistas (Fenamotor), Oscar Almánzar, warned on Wednesday, 16 March 2022 that its members who violate the sidewalks could be expelled. He called for the transit authorities to act against the motorcycle drivers who climb on the sidewalks.
