Chris Martin and Will Champion of the Coldplay British rock band took time off from their concert preparation schedule to visit the Nigua Ecological Park on Monday 21 March 2022. British Ambassador Mockbul Ali accompanied them. Environment Minister Orlando Jorge Mera and Culture Minister Milagros German were also present for the activity that included environmentalists and young Dominican musicians, too.
Martin and Champion participated in a mangrove reforestation day at the Nigua Ecological Park. Members of the band learned about activities, projects and programs at the park.
The event was held the day before the mega-concert by the legendary band on Tuesday, 22 March at the Felix Sanchez Olympic Stadium in Santo Domingo. The presentation was promoted as the first carbon neutral concert held in the country.
