Dominican baseball player Juan Soto reportedly received a US$17.1 million one-year deal with the Washington Nationals at the MLB arbitration deadline. Soto had passed up the team’s previous 13-year contract for US$350 million.
Twenty-three-year-old Soto had batted .313 with 29 homers and 95 RBIs in the past season. During the short 2020 season, he led the National League with a .351 batting average. He has 98 homers and 312 RBIs in 464 career games for a career slash line of .301/.432./550.
