President Luis Abinader received the Dominican Association of Foreign Investment Companies (Asiex) board of directors at the Presidential Palace on Friday, 25 March 2022. Biviana Riveiro, director of ProDominicana, the Dominican Republic export and investment agency, was present for the meeting.
The president of the Asiex board, Ana Figueiredo, chief officer for Altice in the Dominican Republic, coordinated the meeting. In the press release, she is quoted calling the meeting highly positive and an opportunity to identify new areas for collaboration. In the press release, Asiex explains the board and the President discussed future investment prospects, the impact of foreign investment on economic growth especially in these days of geopolitical crisis in Europe.
Issues that were also covered with the President were the proposal to amend Foreign Investment Law 16-95, the institutional strengthening of local governments, the modernization of the single window for investments, the progress of the Zero Bureaucracy initiative, among others.
