Banks to stay open longer at supermarkets and shopping malls

Last week, the Banking Association of the Dominican Republic announced that commercial banks are returning to their regular operating hours in supermarkets and shopping malls around the country after years of reduced working hours due to Covid-19. The new schedules will be effective as of Monday, 28 March 2022.

With the marked reduction of Covid-19 cases and of the severity of the known cases (39 cases and 11 days of zero deaths for the 26 March 2022 bulletin), the banks have decided to return to their pre-pandemic schedule. Banks will now stay open until 7pm Monday to Friday and with an extended schedule on Saturdays for improved customer service.
