
The Dominican national men’s basketball team will play Puerto Rico, Argentina and the US Virgin Islands in Group B of the FIBA AmeriCup 2022, the top continental men’s basketball competition. The Pan American Games qualifier will take place this coming 2-11 September 2022 in Brazil.
The 19th FIBA AmeriCup 2022 will be played in Brasilia at the Nilson Nelson Gymnasium and in Recife at the Esportes Geraldo Magalhães Gymnasium.
Brazil, hosts of the event, will play in Group A with Uruguay, Canada and Colombia. Group C will be made up of the United States, Mexico, Panama and Venezuela.
Francisco García said he will join the Dominican team. He has played nine seasons in the NBA – Sacramento Kings and Houston Rockets.
The tournament awards seven slots for the 2023 Pan Am Games set for 20 October to 5 November 2023 in Santiago, Chile.
